Jessica's Practical Tip #6

Do you LOVE Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches?

Do you hate when you go to eat it on your lunch break (or half way through your nature hike, or when you need a snack during your day at the beach, etc) you find that the jelly has made your bread soggy?

Put peanut butter on both pieces of bread (you can do it lightly if you don't want extra PB)... and then put the jelly on one (or both) sides.

As long as you cover both slices of bread completely with a layer of PB, your bread won't get soggy at all!

What would you suggest for tuna? =P

Don't eat it! It's the bottom feeder of the ocean!

I don't like sandwiches, in general. And, believe it or not, I've never even had a PB&J, that I can remember. Mom always made us hot lunches at home. For school, Monday through Friday it was bologna and mustard, and on Friday's it was tuna. Yep, good Catholics! And, anonymous, the bread was always soggy on Fridays!

I do that with my pb&j's and it works well..good tip :)

And the tuna...maybe put some lettuce on both sides :)

Judi, I cannot believe that you have never had a PBJ. I think that today is the day that you should treat youself to one of lifes simple little pleasures. For lunch make yourself one - follow Jessicas recipe - add a few chips of your choice, an ice cold fountain drink from AM/PM, and ENJOY! OH, whatever you do, don't use a cheap brand of peanut butter - it has to be Skippy or Jiff; crunchy or creamy.

Let us know how you like it

fatheroftheblogger....brother of mine:

Since when did you start calling me Judi? And, do you share my memories of bologna and tuna?

I like peanut butter sandwiches, just never tried it with jelly or jam. Why start now?

I like jam on tarts.

Why start now? Because you little brother highly recommended it =) And it wouldn't hurt you or anything so give it ago... the only thing you have to lose is 2 sliced of bread, a little PB and Jelly... and I bet Rick would finish it for you if you didn't like it and then the bread, PB, and jelly wouldn't even be lost!

i PERSONALLY like nutella sandwiches more than pb&j, which coincidentally (though perhaps not considering who my mom is and her admission in previous comments) i had not tried until... maybe three years ago? maybe less? i think i was 17 and just suddenly had this childhood-craving (though not really since i'd never had one before) for chocolate milk and pb&j.

but as i was saying, nutella! it's a chocolate-hazelnut spread, ever had it? my mom introduced me to it when i was probably 2 or 3. i recently found it again at the-store-that-shall-not-be-named and it has been a favorite to take to work recently!

Personally, I never use this method. Simply put, I love a soggy pb&j !

Pup...I was wondering if the refering to you as Judi would catch your attention!! No Balogna or Tuna for me... it was PBJ until I graduated from grammar school then I was on my own. I don't know if it was because Mom loved me more, or less. I don't care much for tuna and refuse to eat balogna after I saw a TV program showing how it was made - YUCK - which must mean that she loved me more!!!. The pressure is on Not2bright...give it a try !!

yeah, then blog about your first PB&J!
